"Held up AMAZING. Camped out for 1 month in Costa Rica during the rainy season and stayed completely dry. A tree branch (5-7 inches in diameter) fell on top of the rain fly and it did not rip. Very few critters found their way in, and most likely did while I was entering/exiting. Windows are super easy to open and great for allowing some breeze. Only complaint is the zippered door could use a stiff metal lining to make things easier to close quickly, but the zipper never broke. Have since taken it on many camping trips and it has help up really well. Very roomy, fits 4 people very comfortably, 6 people a little snug but doable. Will repurchase if it ever gives out."

"Overall I would recommend this tent. It has good ventilation and is quick and easy to set up. While we didn't get to test how waterproof it really is, from the looks of it, I wouldn't worry. (It only sprinkled during our camping trip). The only complaint and reason it does not receive 5 stars is the front door design. The zipper easily snags the rain flap. At one point the rain flap(the piece over the zipper) is sewn into the outside and then about two thirds of the way down the rain flap switches sides and is sewn into the door. This makes it almost guaranteed that while opening or closing the door zipper you will snag the rain flap in the zipper."

"Great tent, just the right size for two adults and two grade-school kids. Setup and take down were relatively easy and the construction seems quite good. Yes as everyone is pointing out, the zipper on the door constantly catches the protective flaps, so one-handed operation is impossible. But that's life with most zippers and is NOT a reason to pass on this great tent."

"The tent tore at the seam on first use. I dont think we put undue strain on the seam but we did have our kids in the tent so who knows. After reading the reviews on all of these larger tents, they all seem to be poorly made and there wasnt one that didnt have many reviewers complaning about construction quality - not one. So while there are issues, I will keep the tent and duct tape the seam and hope for the best. The size and features of the tent are what I wanted and it is easy to set up without being an instant tent, which I didnt want. I had no problems with condensation so I would say ventilation is good. The doors do have a rain flap that catches in the zipper very easily and the kids complained about that but I think the benefit in preventing leaks there outweighs the drawback. I got the tent on a lightning deal so saved an additional $50 which made the price lower than some of the other options. Most of the tents in this size range are made by Coleman and I wont buy anything made by that company - their quality is more commonly poor than not in my experience - but for all I know the same Chinese sweat shop produced this tent as the Coleman ones. You may be able to do better with a different tent..."

"Edited and dropped rating to 1 star.
The reasons it started as 3 stars: We love this tent, the size and ease of use. The size to cost ratio, the ventilation, and the rain cover. All pluses. We had to knock it down because you can't cover the vent hole at the top, and the double zip door is a constant frustration.
We dropped it to 1 star because the second time we assembled it, the pole for the raincover snapped. And then I learned through a series of phone calls and websites that Columbia no longer manufactures their tents. Its a company called Outdoor Recreation Group, and they also support the warranty. In order to get the pole replaced, I have to send the entire tent back at my cost. So, if you're buying this tent (and paying a bit more) for the Columbia brand, be forewarned."

"Great tent, easy set up. Sleeps 2 queen air mattresses withh no problem, even had room for our bags. We camped 3 days with 1 severe storm and was the only tent in the grounds that stayed dry. It also rained everyday moderately with no leaks. I would recommend getting new stakes. The ones that come with it bend easily especially when the ground is hard. I would recommend this tent to anyone that likes tent camping."

"It was ok, but the seems tore in a couple spits, one zipper came off and we were unable to fix it and the carrying case split open. Big tent, just poor workmanship. We sent it back."

"This is a pretty great tent. We wanted to go a bit bigger for more room and we got it. It stood up to some pretty gusty wind for a night. I will say this, that zipper in the front is a real pain. It consistently got caught in the flaps and we managed to tear a flap cover on our first day of use. There is a lot of room, the design of the cover is great allowing for air flow (we live in a pretty hot place) and the little air vents on the floor were pretty cool too. So far so good minus that zipper!"

"Let me start by saying that this tent is pretty massive. Also, I am a 5ft tall 115lb female and that is important to keep in mind when it comes to setting this bad boy up.
1. I set it up by myself as per the instructions
2. It took me 10-15 minutes to set up without the rain fly
3. I did not run into a single problem during set up
So now that the basics are out of the way. . .I set the tent up in my backyard to familiarize myself with how to set it up, which I do recommend to everyone purchasing a new tent. You don't want to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere to discover that there might be a flaw. I didn't run into any problems during set up or take down.
I followed the instructions exactly and it went up quickly and efficiently. Once I felt comfortable with the set up I just took the tent down in the reverse order. Also, I made sure to pay attention when unfolding the tent so that I knew I could easily get all pieces back in the original bag. Now I know that for most purposes it best to leave the tent out of the bag to prevent mildew and such but I am taking it out on a test run this weekend and wanted it to be ready to go.
So this weekend I will be taking for a mini camp test run to make sure that everything goes smooth. I will most likely purchase an extra set of poles to be on the safe side. I will update my review after my test run, but so far I can say this tent is everything I expected and more."

"This tent actually worked out great! When I bought it I took a gamble because there hadn't yet been a review. But I like Columbia gear and have had success with it in the past. We took this tent to North Carolina camping last week as tropical storm Bonnie went through and couldn't have had more success we stayed dry through a couple pretty good storms. No leaks from any seams and the rain fly worked great!
The tent sets up easily with two people , one could do it but would take a little maneuvering so I wouldn't recommend it. Also the the zippers get stuck on the flaps , as most tents do. Also this would not be a cold weather tent as there are vents at the bottom and an open dome. It was very tolerable with good sleeping gear at about 55 with rain but wouldn't want it to be much cooler than that. But then again my blood has thinned since I've lived in Florida for the last 17 years and I'm a big wuss when it comes to the cold now. Other than that I would recommend this tent to anyone. Happy camping!"
Conclusion:
In summary, the Columbia 6 Person Dome Tent stands out for its roomy interior and functional design, making it a strong candidate for group camping trips. The tent’s ease of setup, ample space, and sturdy construction contribute to its appeal, though it does have some areas where it could be refined. Overall, the Columbia 6 Person Dome Tent offers a reliable and comfortable option for those seeking a practical shelter for family or group outings. If you’re in search of a tent that delivers both in terms of space and performance, the Columbia 6 Person Dome Tent is certainly worth considering for your next camping excursion.
