Pomoly Titanium Wood Stoves Collection
Before we plan to make a stove, we have been thinking about its positioning. Backpacking? Car camping? Extreme lightweight? Bushcraft? After thinking for a long time, we found that this is not a contradiction.
First, we determine the material, we chose the TA1 titanium plate with a thickness of 1 mm. You may be wondering why we emphasize this, because the titanium wood stoves currently on the market do not use 1 mm titanium plates, and almost all are 0.5mm titanium plates, even less than 0.4mm.
After many tests, we found that after the wood stove made of 0.5mm titanium plate is burned, the bottom and top of the stoves and the door will be out of shape. Titanium is an ultra-light metal and resistant to high temperatures, but the titanium plate will undergo slight changes between 700-800 degrees, and it will be slightly deformed, resulting in the stove four feet cannot be placed horizontally on the ground. Not only that, but the temperature on the top of the stove will also be higher, so the top of the stove will be more deformed, which will cause the pan cannot be heated evenly when cooking.
Besides, when the titanium wood stove is slightly deformed, the leakproofness of the stove body will decrease, which will increase the probability of smoke leakage inside the hot tent, this is dangerous when we sleep in the tent. In the end, we decided to use the overall 1mm titanium plate as the material, at the same time, three fixing bars were welded on the top and bottom of the tent stove to reduce the deformation degree, to achieve a perfect effect.
We abandoned the ultra-light design and used a thicker titanium material. The weight of less than 4kg is very light for outdoor camping, also it can be folded into a flat layer and put in your camping backpack.
