I had a roll-up too, but... at home in the comfort of my living room, a roll-up is fine—it works—but when you have to set up your tent in the rain and then use a roll-up, it's a pain in the ass... For real-world conditions, a fixed exhaust pipe is the best—you can rely on it 100%, no matter the weather or temperature.
