1.Review from Customer "Innes M.":

"Bemused why no one has reviewed the international. Mine was a present for my 21st birthday, and I haven't looked back since. From New Zealand, England, Uganda, Pakistan, Scotland and in between the MSR has burned hot and strong. Once you have learnt the dark art of low pressure burning to simmer, or placing rock around the burner to elevate the pot for a gentler heat, you are away. My fuel of choice was a Mobil product called Pegasoll AA, though this has been discontinued and the closest now available is Coleman Fuel. Just because it burns a shade cleaner and less risk of a risotto tasting more like Shell 95 than Chanel No.5. Being able to burn pretty much what is available, unleaded petrol, kerosene, meths and whisky(just once out of curiosity) is one less thing to worry about on your travels. You will have to change jets for the heavier fuels of course. I am on my second pump assembly due to age hardened plastic breaking, otherwise everything is original. I did buy the titanium tool spoon, because it is Titanium and a spoon is always easier. It is compact, reliable and easy to use. You will learn a lot on how to get the best out of it, the windshield is such a good idea and is in constant use. The only embuggerance is taking the fuel bottle on flights, airlines do not allow it, so overseas trips are prefixed with a new bottle that has never seen fuel. I'll leave with the fathers thoughts on just how quiet it is compared to his Optimus 8r. "that'll be useful for a sneaky brew first thing at camp"( the 8R had all the finesse of Concorde on full after burner)."

2.Review from Customer "Tyler":

"I really appreciate this stove as a liquid fuel stove as opposed to a gas fuel stove, mainly as a way to constantly keep fuel topped off rather than worry about bringing multiple canisters if one is getting close to empty. It needs some slight maintenance, but nothing too hard to be worried about; mainly just O-ring replacements. One complaint I have with this is with the size of the stand that you place your pot on top of. While it handles most pots very well, some pots with a smaller diameter cannot properly sit on all three parts of the stand. I noticed this with my Toaks 750mL pot which is 3.75 inches (~95mm) diameter, so do make sure to bring a slightly wider pot. Other than that, it provides more than enough heat to boil 2 cups of water in only a few minutes and has an even heat distribution. It does super well overall!"

3.Review from Customer "woody":

"I’m 54 years old and I purchased this stove in my early twenties for use in the San Isabel national forest, Colorado. This stove worked flawlessly for my hiking trips through the trails of the collegiate range of the fourteeners. I have also used this stove on months long motorcycle trips throughout the country in all types of weather conditions with no problems. I packed this stove away for about 20 years and recently got it out to prepare for an overnight backpacking trip. The stove started right up ,although I noticed it needed some O-ring replacement maintenance, it still burned like it should. This thing is definitely old reliable and I highly recommend it.

Happy trails, Woody"

4.Review from Customer "deezeewye":

"The WhisperLite outputs a lot of heat and is able to hold larger pots, so you can cook for larger groups of people compared to typical canister backpacking stoves. There are many complaints about how this stove is complicated, fussy, and not user friendly. It's very difficult to do any cooking on it beyond boiling water. You have to service it every now and then, which is a lot more than the basically-zero maintenance required for canister stoves. I could go on... These are all true and I won't dispute them. However, many of the benefits of this stove come from the fact that it uses liquid fuel.
One of these benefits is that you can top off your fuel bottle before every trip. With isobutane canisters, I'm sure you all have been in that situation with 2 or more canisters with 30-40% fuel, but you want to start the journey with a full reservoir.
Another benefit is if you ever need firestarter in a pinch, you can just pour some fuel on the wood and you're good to go.
Lastly, you can use white gas for multiple appliances. There are Coleman lanterns and larger multi-burner stoves. There are even some old catalytic heaters than run on white gas. Granted, this applies to propane as well. Propane has a lot more potential uses, but it isn't great for backpacking."

5.Review from Customer "Ian":

"It's a wisperlite! It's the stove all other stoved are judged by. So.. If you can have only one it might be ok. As a liquid fuel stove this is the best there is. As a canister stove its a compromise. Canister stoves have 3 properties that are better than a liquid stove. Weight, packability and price. A pocket rocket canister stove is much lighter and smaller, so it packs easily. And they are usually cheaper than a liquid fuel stove. The wisperlite universal as a canister stove addresses almost all of the canister stoves problems. Remote canister allows the use of a windshield which is more efficient and safer. It has a lower burner height so it's more stable. The upside down canister helps when it gets cold, low on fuel or at altitude. But.. It doesn't have any of the canister stoves benefits. It's a big, heavy and expensive canister stove. For the same money you could have a wisperlite international and a pocket rocket. Then you would have the best liquid fuel stove and a really good canister stove."

7.Review from Customer "Wishbone":

"This is a fantastic product. You can cook in this burner or boils water. It produces a great flame and the fuel is very efficient. It transitions easily between the bottle and canister. The heat shield are also also great, light, and easily stowed. The whole stove minus the bottle easily fit in a small bag. The only negative feature is that it can be messy when the pump is taken out of the bottle, it drips fuel and must be dried before storing. But otherwise this is a great product."

8.Review from Customer "Sam G.":

"The Whisperlite Internationale is a true friend amongst all the gear I've used and abused over the past 40+ years. Reliable, efficient, quiet and light. MSR really sniped the top corner with this design.
Good conversation happens during meal prep, but only if we can hear each other.
I've cooked meals for small groups and as a solo traveller. I've used it on different fuels and at altitude. >6000m
Granted, this stove has some slight idiosyncrasies around use, but with care you'll get years of reliable meals. Some folks say the Whisperlite doesn't simmer well. If the fuel bottle has very low pressure, the stove simmers perfectly for use with a Bemko or Outback oven.
Field maintenance is very straightforward. Never an empty cartridge to deal with."

9.Review from Customer "Matt N.":

"I’ve been using Whisperlite stoves on and off for almost three decades and they are, in my opinion, the most reliable, field-serviceable stoves on the market. This is an improved version of the classic with a burlier fuel hose, nicer leg design and the shaker jet, which should make cleaning much easier. It only gets four stars due to the added weight relative to canister stoves like the MSR PocketRocket. It also requires slightly more knowledge and time to get fired up, so I reserve this for trips where temperatures are below -5C and/or I need to melt a lot of snow."

10.Review from Customer "Anura W.":

"This is an excellent product that I've used in multiple locations over the past 8 years. Filled with many positive features built into of which safety is superb. Never had a stove fire in the past. MUST clean the stove every year or so to obtain the best performance. The stove is not well-balanced which is one negative feature I have seen. Must be careful as your pot can tip over! The other is sometimes, the stove puts out yellow flame meaning unburnt fuel. I hope this will last for another 10 years!!

The only comparable stove that I can recommend is SOTO which is comparatively expensive than this. I have one of those too."
