MANTA — Improvements & Upgrades

We've made several key improvements to the MANTA teepee hot tent to enhance durability, stability, weather resistance, and overall usability.

1. Upgraded 300D Oxford Fabric
The fabric has been upgraded while retaining the original silver-coated 300D Oxford construction. The new material has a softer feel while offering improved toughness and tear resistance for greater durability in outdoor use.

2. Upgraded 28 mm Aluminum Alloy Tent Pole
The original 25 mm steel poles has been replaced with stronger 28 mm aluminum alloy pole. The larger-diameter pole provides increased rigidity and helps improve stability in windy conditions.

3. Detachable & Upgraded Stove Jack
The stove jack has been upgraded from a fixed design to a detachable stove jack. We've also upgraded the material to provide improved heat resistance for use with a wood stove.

4. Improved Seam Construction & Waterproof Construction
The sewing and seam-sealing processes have been improved to enhance the tent's overall water resistance and seam durability.

5. Lighter & Stronger Tent Stakes
The included tent stakes have been upgraded to lighter, stronger aluminum alloy stakes, reducing pack weight while providing reliable anchoring for the tent.

WHY MANTA?
Inspired by the manta ray, MANTA gets its name from the shape of its front doors when fully opened. Like manta ray fins, the large doors extend outward to create a naturally sheltered space for protection from sun, rain, and snow.

Inside, the spacious design provides plenty of room for up to 5 people, making MANTA a versatile shelter for group camping, family outings, and outdoor gatherings.

Versatile Shelter Design
The front doors can be rolled up individually or together, giving you multiple ways to open the shelter and adjust airflow. Whether you want a fully open entrance or additional protection from the elements, MANTA can be configured to suit different camping conditions.

Improved Ventilation
The redesigned top mesh skylight works together with the main tent body to promote airflow while helping keep insects outside. Two crescent-shaped vents near the bottom of the tent provide additional low-level ventilation and help improve air circulation.

When using a wood stove inside the hot tent, adequate ventilation is essential for safe operation and reducing the risk of carbon monoxide buildup. Always use a properly installed stove jack, maintain adequate airflow, and follow the safety instructions for your wood stove.

Optional Mesh Inner Tent
For campers who want extra protection from mosquitoes and other insects, MANTA can be paired with an inner mesh tent. It also makes a comfortable shelter for relaxing outdoors or spending the day in the backyard with the family.

How to Properly Use a Stove Jack

These tips can help ensure safer and more efficient stove jack use:

1. Roll Up and Secure the Stove Jack Cover
Roll up the stove jack cover and secure it in place. Do not allow the cover fabric to come into contact with the hot stovepipe.

Common hot tent fabrics, such as our 300D Oxford fabric, cannot withstand the extreme temperatures generated by a stovepipe. Always keep the cover fabric away from the hot pipe.

2. Keep the Stovepipe Centered in the Stove Jack
Adjust the stove position to keep the stovepipe centered inside the stove jack opening. Make sure the stovepipe does not touch any tent fabric.

3. Use Branches as a Barrier When Needed
If it is difficult to prevent the stovepipe from contacting the tent fabric by adjusting the stove position, you can use branches or other heat-resistant barriers to create separation.

4. Keep the Tent Stable
After positioning the stovepipe in the center of the stove jack, make sure the hot tent remains stable. Excessive movement may cause the hot stovepipe to contact the tent fabric.

Keeping the stove jack properly positioned helps extend its service life and improves safety during use.

Important Safety Note
The stove jack fabric is heat-resistant, but the stitching thread is not designed to withstand direct contact with high temperatures.

If the tent fabric is positioned too close to the hot stovepipe, the stitching thread may melt or burn, potentially causing damage to the tent.

Tent Care Instructions

Regular care of your POMOLY tent helps maintain its performance and extend its lifespan. Follow these basic cleaning and maintenance guidelines to keep your tent in optimal condition.

1. Remove Dirt and Debris
Use a soft brush to gently remove dirt from the tent surface, including the snow skirt, ground sheet, and inner tent.

2. Use Mild Detergent
Clean the tent with a mild, neutral detergent when necessary. Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage the fabric or waterproof coating.

3. Clean the Zippers
Use soapy water to gently clean the zipper areas and remove dirt or debris.

4. Do Not Machine Wash
Never machine wash your tent, as this may damage the waterproof coating and seam sealing.

5. Avoid Abrasive Cleaning
Do not use hard brushes or abrasive materials to scrub the tent. This may damage the outer waterproof coating and reduce water resistance.

6. Check Attachment Points Regularly
Regularly inspect the guy line attachment points and stitching areas. If any stitching damage is found, repair it promptly and apply tent seam sealer when needed.

7. Dry Completely Before Storage
Before storing your tent, make sure it is completely clean and fully dry with no remaining moisture.

A dry and clean tent helps prevent mildew growth and keeps your hot tent ready for your next adventure.

We love our Manta tent! We have taken it camping many times in the cold Minnesota winters. Easy to set up, fabric is very durable. We stay toasty warm. The only down side to this tent is that the tent stakes are dinky and pomoly didn't send us the tent pole to prop up the door. When we contacted customer service, they told us the tent was discontinued and couldn't send us a pole. We asked for the specs so we could make our own and no one at customer service could get us that information. Tent- 5 stars. Customer service-2 stars.

Service:Hi Anna, I'm sorry that our customer service did not satisfy you. The Manta tent stopped coming with a door pole a long time ago and is now discontinued. The height of the Manta tent is 260 cm. You can use a door pole of 260 cm, or 10 cm higher than the tent to support the door of the tent. Thank you for your support.

Absolutely love this tent and put it through testing when canoeing the great glen solo with my dog for charity....
We had some tough pitches on rocky shore lines on loch ness and she took no damage thanks to the tough material. With being in a Canadian canoe the weight of the tent wasn't an issue.. and it sure came into its own when we has some real wet freezing rain for a day being able to dry our kit and ourselves well my old 14yr old dog was priceless and watching other wet freezing canoeists pul up and set up thier wet tents the looks they gave us was also priceless 😀 we all had a good laugh about t later when the rain eased off... but I would highly recommend this tent

I've used this tent several times since owning it and it's a very nice tent. Nice heavy material and very durable. Use it in a rain storm and it never leaked. It stayed warm all night with the traveller 3 stove at 25 degrees. The only thing I would fix is the door zipper. It's hard to get the tent closed completely from inside because the zipper is hard to reach in the corner. Maybe turning the zipper seam down before its reaches the corner would help. But not a major deal because it's a great tent. I would definitely recommend buying this tent

This is an awesome tent, my first weekend having it setup was incredibly high winds and rain. Two days straight .This tent handled the punishment well and did not leak. I put my old iron stove in and lit it up, you can easily cook yourself right out of the tent. I have had it out and setup in 3 or 4 different places. It is great, this last time I took 3 poles for the two front doors and that was a very cool setup, like having a porch.

I purchased mine for winter camping. We absolutely love it. It’s a big tent, plenty of room. We had two big cots and a table with the woodstove in its corner and still had more room. I’ve only had the opportunity to use it this one time. But I look forward to many more nights in it.

I love the pomoly manta tent.I live in Scotland and we get a lot of cold windy and rainy weather.This is not a problem with the manta as all the guy out points keep it nice and sturdy.This tent is very waterproof and is made out of a very strong and durable fabric

Testée par grande pluie + Mini T1. Tente bien étanche et bien spacieuse, semble assez robuste. Beaucoup d'espace pour 1 personne + poêle! Le fait de pouvoir rester debout à l'intérieur est pour moi un grand plus. J'étais sur sol déjà mouillé, donc pas mal de condensation mais vu l'espace ce n'était pas un problème, on ne touche pas la toile. Très content et très satisfait de cet achat donc, aucun regret! Attention toutefois, si vous n'avez pas la place chez vous pour la faire sécher (et elle prend bien de la place) ça pourrait être un problème.

Absolutely love the tent. Not a fan of the small aluminum tent pegs but that is an easy fix. I picked up some heavy duty pegs to replace them.

The tent has way more room than I imagines and cannot wait to get out and enjoy if this fall and winter.

Well designed, has a touch of quality. Needs bigger stove jack and stove jack port. ( Knico, Alaskan). More my problem than theirs to be fair. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs a tent of this style.
I also have the inner half, works well, no complaints about it.

I love the main tent but still haven't got my full order for Pomoly- months later. when I ordered the Manta tent I also ordered the half inner and full mesh full set. till date haven't got the two inner tent so haven't been able to fully test out the tent.
